Coach Education & Development

As a US Soccer Federation sanctioned program all of the Compton United coaches participate in the US Soccer Coaching School/Licensing Program.

All Compton United coaches are volunteers and are committed to seeing youth developed in the Compton community.

Each coach, assistant and team manager must at least, hold a current US Soccer Federation class "E" License and a current Cal South KIDSAFE (Risk Management) Certification.

It is club policy that all coaches should acquire their "E" License ($85) and KIDSAFE credential ($15) at their own expense and then, if and when they should go on to further their coaching education, the club will pick up the educational fee portion of the costs!

It is suggested that coaches for 17 years and older get a "D" license or above.

Remember, everyone is a volunteer with Compton United this allows us to keep club fees affordable for all kids!

"E" License Info
The "E" License is an entry level course for all competitive coaches and will be mandatory for all coaches. This 18-hour course combines field and classroom instruction in intermediate coaching and teaching methodology.

This is an entry level course for all coaches and is mandatory for all CUSC coaches. This is Pass/Fail Course.

• Methods of coaching
• Team administration and risk management
• Prevention and care of injuries
• Coaching technique
• Coaching tactics
• Laws of the Game
• Principles of attack and defense
• Small-sided games

Prerequisites:

• Minimum age – 18 years old

Course Length:

• 18 hours of instruction
• 5 hours classroom
• 13 hours field

Testing:

• Written

Cost:

• $85 per person

All Candidates will receive the USSF “E” Course workbook and Nike T-shirt at a retail value of $30. Again, this is mandatory for all coaches.
